Crypto welcome bonuses — frequently asked

Real questions from new users about claiming sign-up rewards, deposit bonuses and ongoing fee rebates on crypto exchanges. If you have one we haven't covered, email us.

How do crypto exchange welcome bonuses actually work?
When you sign up through a referral link, the exchange unlocks a tiered rewards menu — typically split between deposit credit (cash you can trade with), trading fee rebates (a fee discount that lasts as long as the exchange runs its programme), and task-based rewards (complete X to unlock $Y). The exchange funds the bonus from its marketing budget rather than from your fees, but each reward carries its own conditions — deposit tiers, wagering or task thresholds, and a claim window. Every exchange page here gives the minimum deposit and the headline ceiling; the rung-by-rung thresholds are in the exchange's own promotion terms, which open from the Claim button.
Which exchange has the biggest welcome bonus in 2026?
Bybit and Weex both cap their ladders at 30,000 — Bybit in dollars, Weex in USDT. OKX's $10,000 mystery-box programme is next, then MEXC's $9,000 sign-up stack. Those are ceilings: the rung an ordinary first deposit reaches is far lower, and the exact thresholds are printed only on each exchange's promotion page. The sortable table on the homepage lines the ceilings up side by side.
Are these welcome bonuses withdrawable?
Most aren't directly withdrawable as cash. Typically you receive 'experience funds' or 'trading credit' that you can use to place trades — and any profit you make on those trades is real, withdrawable money. Some exchanges (Bybit, MEXC) offer cashable bonuses for specific deposit thresholds; whether a given rung is credit or cash is set out in the exchange's own promotion terms, which open from each detail page's Claim button.
Do I have to deposit to claim a welcome bonus?
It varies. Sign-up rebates (the % fee discount) activate the moment you register through the referral link — no deposit needed. Deposit bonuses obviously require funding the account. Task-based rewards (e.g. 'trade $50 to unlock $5') need both. Each detail page states the minimum deposit and the headline ceiling; the tier thresholds between them are on the exchange's promotion page, reached through the Claim button.
Can I claim bonuses on multiple exchanges?
Yes. Each exchange's bonus is independent — claiming on Binance does not affect your eligibility on OKX, Bybit, etc. The sensible ceiling is the two or three you would actually trade on; every extra account is another KYC file and another set of terms to keep track of.
What happens if I already have an account?
Existing accounts cannot attach a referral code after the fact, and opening a second account to get one usually breaches the exchange's terms — duplicate accounts get closed and any bonus is clawed back. Treat the welcome bonus as a new-customer offer: if you already trade on an exchange, its referral rebate is not on the table for you.
Do these bonuses expire?
Fee rebates (the 20-60% discount) stay on the account for as long as the exchange runs its referral programme; they are not a fixed-term promotion. Welcome credits, deposit bonuses and task rewards usually have an unlock window of 7-30 days — claim them promptly. Once unlocked into your spot wallet, profits from trading them are yours to keep.
How do you make money if the site is free?
Exchanges pay us a small commission whenever you sign up through our links — out of their own revenue, not yours. That is the standard model for a comparison site. Fee schedules are read from each exchange's official rate card and re-read at least every 45 days, with every change logged; bonus ceilings and rebate percentages are quoted as the exchange publishes them and are not independently verified, which is why every detail page sends you to the exchange's own terms before you deposit.
